Test bed ideas.

In deciding what photographic style to use, I have decided to concentrate on Intentional Camera Movement as a technical style. Also, I wish to use slow exposure. Both these will be used outside-street photography.

1. The influence of ICM came from a photographer called Olga Karlovac from Croatia. Her work shows urban landscapes which are shot in black and white and use camera shake to give an abstract view. She disagrees with the view that only crisp and clear images are good enough to make it in exhibitions. Her work is abstract and is a representation of how she is feeling.

This form of photography can be used anywhere from landscape photography to portraits.

2. The next technical style I wish to use is time lapse photography in a urban context. Again, I wish to capture the public. A photographer who has influenced me is Russian Alexey Titerenko. Titerenko's work explores urban environments and people, the people exist like ghosts or huge collectives of mass which navigate the city.

The concept I wish to explore is post truth in society. Both the work of Titerenko and Karlavac can help me explore this perfectly. They both show the people as being a collective which is like a herd of animals on the rampage without any individual identity.

In terms of camera settings, ICM usually consists of a high f stop of f16/22, ISO of 100-400

and shutter speed of 1/10 or lower. Slow exposure uses a medium f stop of F10, 100 ISO and a shutter speed of 1 second. Also, a filter is used to block out light. And, a tripod.

My experiments with ICM.

I am going to experiment further on Saturday 7th October with ICM and slow exposures in Blackpool. Hopefully, I will be able to photograph lots of people in town on the day. Also, I hope the weather is dull to impact on the shoot.
